Chapter 3 (discontinued) "What are you talking about, Ser?" Lucifer's eyes were wide
with shock. A few minutes ago, she was looking at him with disgust as he
sweared and kicked at the rubbish can as if he was just discharged
from a nearby mental hospital. Now that he looked at her closely,
he realised that she had changed during those six lonely years. Her
hair was longer and curlier at the ends. Shorter hair framed her
heart-shaped face. She looked ethereal - fragile and soft. A pang of
protectiveness came over him. Where had you been for the past
six years? I was miserable without you... "Having dementia at the age of twenty-nine? What a joke!" Serena
retorted. "I'm hurt to know that you've forgotten why I ran away
from that place, away from home... away from you," she whispered
softer and softer. Lucifer felt regret when she said those words. It pierces his heart that
the reason she left was because of him. When Serena left that day,
he searched for her high and low - at places where they had fun, places
where they created lasting memories. Later that day, he found out that
Serena had moved out from the landlady's house and disappeared without
telling anyone where she was going. Not even leaving any messages. He
cried for a week and kept asking himself questions that that has no answer -
because she left. "Whatever it was, I'm sorry. I know you're hurt, upset and angry,
but please listen to what I'm going to say!" His gaze fell on Serena. He wanted to get things straight. No more
secrets. No more delaying, because he knew, if he waited any longer
she may disappear again and this time, it may be forever.
